Srinagar, Sept 20: Amid strict curfew, three-tier security measures were in place in areas around the route connecting the Srinagar International Airport with SKICC, the venue for All Party Delegation meeting in Kashmir as not even ambulances were not allowed to move for most part of the day.Since last night, the Nishat Road, Gupkar and the Airport Road were under strict surveillance as no civilian was allowed to move out of their houses.Sources said the security measures were so stringent that even many of the police officials working at the Police Headquarters on the Airport Road couldn’t reach their office till afternoon.“There is a three-tier security in place on the road and we aren’t taking any chances by allowing anybody to move out,” said a police official on phone.A south City based doctor working at SKIMS – Valley’s territory care hospital said he wasn’t allowed to reach the hospital.“I pleaded before the cops that my staff bus hasn’t arrived presumably due to security measures and so let me go in my own car, but they didn’t pay any heed to my request,” the medico said.Junaid Ahmed of Pirbagh said his close relative had to undergo surgery at SKIMS.“ But we were not allowed going there,” he said.A police official pleading anonymity said they had directions from the higher ups not to allow anybody except those on security duty move on the VIP route.“We are keeping a track of credentials of everybody driving down this road,” said a official on duty near the Jehangir Chowk.Police said the security measures were in place to disrupt any untoward incident in the wake of strike call by senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.
