Resolution of K-issue as per aspirations of people: CPI(M)

Jammu, Sept 21: Regional Committee (CPI) M Jammu has demanded the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the aspiration of the people.
A delegation of. The Committee, comprising of Comrades Sham Prasad Kesar, Regional Secretary, Om Prakash, Javaid Zargar, Kishore Kumar and Banarsi Dass met All Party Delegation at Jammu and put forth its view point in respect of prevailing political uncertainty in the state.
The Committee has expressed extreme concern over the recent spate of killings of young people in Kashmir and said that it believes that the core issue (Kashmir Issue) need to be addressed as per the aspirations of the people of the state.
The delegation further demanded restoration of autonomy to the state and zero tolerance of human rights violations.
Employment package for unemployed youth of the state, whose number is estimated to be more than 5 lacs, is also required to channelize the energy of the youth towards productive and constructive areas, the delegates said. As per a statement, issued after the meeting, issues pertaining to Kashmiri pandits were also highlighted.
The delegation was also urged for immediate implementation of the recommendations made by Five Working Groups constituted by GOl. Construction of identified power projects on River Chenab and Jehlum need to be expedited for speedy development and generation of job opportunities for youth of the state, the statement said.
Recommendation in respect of handing over of 390 MW Dul Hasti Power project to the State made by the Working Group headed by Dr C Rangarajan should be implemented in letter and spirit they said adding that the problems of refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 also need to be addressed on priority.
