CDCN invites applications

New Delhi, Sept 26: The Charkha Development Communication Network has invited nominations for Sanjoy Ghose Ladakh women writer’s award and Sanjoy Ghose special writer’s award 2010-11.
 In a statement, CDCN said that for women writer’s award, the contestant should be above 18 years while the other award was open to persons with disability (men and women) above the 18 years. 
 Journalists, professionals, students and social activists living in India, within or outside Ladakh, are eligible to apply, it said adding both awards were exclusively for Ladakhis.
 These awards are meant to encourage writings reflecting community perspectives on issues of Education, Environment and Disability from the Ladakh, it said adding the writings should be based in the context of the recent disaster and outline how efforts by the communities, government agencies and civil society organizations could create better conditions for the people of Ladakh related to the above issues.
 The application could be downloaded from Charkha’s website www.charkha.org, it said adding the previous awardees were not eligible.
 Applications can also be sent by mail to: charkha@bol.net.in and sujvan@gmail.com and the last date of receiving the forms was October 7, it added.
