Quiet birthday for PM

New Delhi, Sep 26 :(PTI) It was a quiet birthday for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who turned 78 today.
 President Pratibha Patil and Vice President Hamid Ansari sent flowers and wished the Prime Minister on the occasion.
 Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati telephoned Singh and greeted him.
 Among those who wished the prime minister on the occasion are Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and Congress leaders.
 Last year, Singh had celebrated his birthday mid-air while returning from G-20 summit in Pittsburgh in the US.Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in Gah, west Punjab, now in Pakistan.
