Srinagar, Sept 28: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly Muhammad Akbar Lone on Tuesday assured that “full support” would be provided to mediapersons covering Assembly proceedings, an official handout said.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that special car parking passes along with curfew passes issued by competent authority are honoured.
“The meeting was convened to discuss certain issues related to traffic, security, issuance of curfew passes and space for parking of vehicles,” the handout said.
“Representatives of different media organizations raised some issues regarding conveyance, seating arrangements, etc. and sought redressal,” it added.
The Speaker hoped that the session would run smoothly and added that all arrangements have been put in place for the facility of media persons for LA session.
“Regarding honouring of curfew passes, Director General Police Kuldeep Khuda assured the meeting that the curfew passes of mediapersons will be honoured, however in case of any difficulty, they may contact SSP, Security, SP Police Control Room Srinagar and SP Civil Secretariat,” the handout said.
Secretary, General Administration Department Muhammad Syeed Khan, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir SM Sahai, Director Doordarshan Rafiq Masoodi , Secretary, Lagislative Assembly M Ramzan, Director Information Khawja Farooq Renzu,Deputy Inspector Genral, Traffic AQ Manhas, Officers of Assembly Secretariat and representatives of various media participated in the meeting.
