E D Bank launches Women Farmers’ Club

Jammu, Sept 28: The Ellaquai Dehati Bank launched two Women Farmers’ Clubs at village Dandyal in Udhampur today.
Chief General Manager NABARD (J&K), M L Sukhdeve was the chief guest on the occasion. The clubs were launched in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development and under the aegis of Farmers’ Club Programme.
The function, according to a statement issued by ED Bank here, was presided over by A K Razdan, Chairman Ellaquai Dehati Bank and was attended by various representatives of line departments including KVIB, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, etc.
Besides, a large number of farmers from Dandyal village and adjoining areas were present on the occasion. The chairman said that E D Bank has a strong chain of 103 SHGs.
The CGM highlighted the importance of development through micro credit and efficient recycling of funds besides qualitative loaning.
He impressed upon the farmers to avail benefits of various schemes available under micro credit.
The farmers were given detailed inputs on the concept of farmer’s club programme and its benefits. The CGM said the main objective of the programme was to increase the access of farmers to rural credit through technology transfer, awareness and capacity building.
