Medical aid facility estd in Hajj house
Vaccination schedule for pilgrims announced
Srinagar, Sept 28: The Health Department has established a medical aid facility at Hajj House here for the pilgrims, which would have surgeon and physician specialists along with paramedics.
Inspecting the three day vaccination camp at the Hajj House, Director Health, Dr. Muhammad Amin said a similar facility would be established at the hotels where the Hajjis from Jammu, Ladakh and other areas would be lodged.
The Department has also planned awareness modules for the Hajjis about gastroenteritis, which was reported from some areas of Kashmir, Dengue and Malaria.
On Tuesday, the pilgrims were administered oral polio and anti-tetanus vaccines.
The government has issued vaccination schedule for Hajj pilgrims of various districts:
Bandipora
According to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, the pilgrims of Sonawari Tehsil would be vaccinated on October, 4 at PHC Hajan, while the pilgrims of Tehsil Gurez and Bandipora will be vaccinated at Sub-District Hospital Bandipora on October 5 at 10. AM
Kupwara
According to the Chief Medical Officer Kupwara the pilgrims of Handwara, Zachaldar and Langate blocks (Tehsil Handwara) will be vaccinated in Handwara hospital on September 29 from 10 AM.
The pilgrims of Tehsil Karnah will be administered vaccination in SDH Karnah on September 30 whereas the pilgrims of Sogam, Kupwara, Kalaroose, Velgam, Keran and Machhil blocks will be given vaccination at AMT school in Kupwara hospital on October 2.
Islamabad
The pilgrims of Tehsil Islamabad will be administered vaccinations from September 30 to October 2 at District Tuberculosis Centre, Islamabad and the pilgrims of Dooru will be vaccinated on October 3 and 4 at Dub-District Hospital, Dooru.
Similarly, pilgrims of Tehsil Kokernag, Shangus, Bhalgam and Bijbehara will be vaccinated on October 5, 6, 7 and 8 at Sub-District Hospital, Kokernag, SDH, Shangus, PHC, Ashmuqam and SDH Bijbehara respectively.
Those pilgrims who cannot present themselves on the same dates can be vaccinated at District Tuberculosis Centre, Islamabad on October 9, 10 and 11.
