'Eidgah landlines not working for a month'

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar Sept 2: The residents of Eidgah have said the landlines in the area are out-of-order for the past around a month when the paramilitary CRPF had allegedly burnt the cable network during protests in the area.
“Since the day the CRPF gutted our cable network, the BSNL people didn’t bother to get it restored despite repeated appeals,” the residents said.
Given the frequent restrictions in the area, the locals said it was difficult for them to get mobile phones recharged.
“Landlines could prove a convenient means of connectivity but the authorities seem to be callous towards our problems,” the residents said.
They appealed the GMT BSNL to look into the matter.
