Central team visits Banihal
Jammu, Sept 2: After conducting a survey in Doda to find out the reasons behind the spread of diarrhea, the central team today visited Banihal area which also reported several cases of the gastroenteritis recently, affecting hundreds of people.
The team led by Dr Som Nath visited the worst affected Kaskoot village where about 500 persons were suffering from the disease and interacted with the patients admitted in the district hospital.
Team has also taken samples from the springs from which the people take the water for drinking purposes. The team, which include Dr R.C Agarwal and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Health Ministry Rashid Jahangir also met the local health officials and discussed with them the measures being taken to deal with the situation.
