Princely state
This refers to a letter by Afsheen Azad on Sep 25th 2010. If the writer advocates revival of former princely state of J&K as an independent sovereign entity then the idea is unrealistic. It is a historical fact that Dogra state was a creation of British crown as compared to other princely states i.e. Hyderabad, Bbahawalpur, Maysore, Swat etc. Muslim subjects of Dogra Maharajas had always thought the creation of Dogra state as a curse. Today the Hindus of proper Jammu (Dogra land) prefer to get merged in Bharat. Popular sentiment in Gilgit-Baltistan is in favour of becoming a province of Pakistan. Six million muslim masses in the vale of Kashmir are as staunch Pakistanis as fifteen million Karachites and ten million Lahorites. Detaching inseparable Kashmir from Pakistan is like delinking this dispute from its true geopolitical as well as ideological and historical context.
