Yoom-i-Kashmir, Yoom-i-Qudus today: Hurriyat (M)
Srinagar, Sept 2: Hurriyat (M) has announced that Jumat-ul-Wida on September 3, will be observed as Yoom-i-Kashmir and Yoom-i-Qudus in J&K.
The party chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is scheduled to deliver speech at central Jamia Masjid on Friday on the significance of this day.
“This day will be observed against occupation of Qibla Awal Masjid-e-Al-Aqsa. On this day rich tributes would be paid to 65 civilians including three women killed in the firing by armed forces during recent demonstrations; against the rights violations; ‘usurpation’ of political and religious rights of Muslim majority of Jammu Kashmir; and to highlight the importance of Kashmir issue, seeking international community’s support for resolving it; to express solidarity with those lodged in jails and interrogation centres and put forth demand for their immediate and unconditional release and to re-affirm pledge to take the ongoing struggle to its logical end,” said a spokesman of the Hurriyat in a statement.
“Hurriyat leaders will present the resolution drafted by the conglomerate at all central Masajid, Shrines and Imambaras and get it passed by the people,” he said.
