Misleading figures
I liked the editorial tiled “Misleading figures” in Greater Kashmir edition of September 27. Saying that 4000 cops were injured by stone pelters is just rubbish. Police is giving an impression as if they haven’t killed any civilian in the past four months and they are too humane. But history will remember the police and CRPF as a brute force. Imagine the pain that the people who have lost their near ones must be experiencing. Police is adding salt to their injuries by saying that they were killed while dealing with the incidents of arson and loot. I recently happened to visit SKIMS to inquire about the condition of a relative who was hit by police bullet. An official there told me that hundreds of injured were brought to the hospital since June 11 and most of them are yet to recover.
