Timber smuggling

This refers to the news titled “Timber smuggling unabated in Kupwara”. I was really shocked to read that officials, instead of trying to control timber smuggling, are acting as a mute spectator toward this open vandalization of forests. We just lack the knowledge about the significance of forests. Governments
should being about a legislation that could effectively prevent the continued practice of timber smuggling. Government has to get serious toward this illegal
practice which is consuming our green gold like anything.
