Eid celebrations
The Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has made a fervent appeal to the people to observe the Eid-ul-Fitr with austerity. It is essential that we do away with extravagance while celebrating the annual festival. Islam teaches us to be simple in everything. We have to think of those who lost their lives. Nobody is asking people not to celebrate Eid. But the appeal is just to ensure that people show sense of belongingness to the society in general and to families who lost their kin in the past two months.
