Hurriyat (G) prepares resolution on future strategy
Geelani To Offer Eid Prayers At Hazratbal
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Sept 6: The Hurriyat Conference (G) has prepared a resolution regarding its future course of action which will be adopted at big Eid prayer gatherings.
The resolution, comprising the proposals put forth by the Hurriyat advisory council members, was prepared after deliberations at a meeting held here today with Syed Ali Shah Geelani in chair.
The resolution, among other things, contains five points which the Hurriyat has already presented to Delhi for making the atmosphere congenial for resolution of Kashmir issue.
“It is reiterated in the resolution that Hurriyat will review its ongoing protest program if India fulfils these five fundamental requirements. In case New Delhi continues to pursue its traditional rigid policy, Hurriyat will be constrained to intensify the ongoing the protests programs,” said a spokesman of the Hurriyat in a statement today.
Geelani has appealed to all pro-freedom leaders including Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq to get the resolution passed at the places where they offer Eid prayers and extend their hand of cooperation in strengthening the unity among people.
He has appealed to all the Imams and Ulema to make people renew their support to the ongoing struggle and get the Hurriyat resolution seconded and passed at the Eid prayers. He has sent letters along with the copies of resolution to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other pro-freedom leaders.
Geelani is scheduled to offer Eid prayers at Hazratbal shrine here where he would get the resolution passed by the people.
Meanwhile, Geelani has appealed to the people to celebrate Eid with austerity and in accordance with Islamic teachings. “This Eid is Eid of bereaved,” he said, appealing people to offer special prayers at Shab-i-Qadr for primacy and prevalence of Islam and freedom of oppressed Kashmiris.
