Pattan killings evoke condemnation
Srinagar, Sept 6: Cutting across ideologies, various mainstream and pro-freedom organizations strongly condemned the killing of four persons in unprovoked firing by police in Pattan today.
The Chairman of Hurriyat (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the killings in Pattan terming them as a glaring act of state terrorism. “New Delhi has given licence to kill to its troopers to suppress the resolve of Kashmiris. But these cheap and barbaric tactics won’t deter the resolve of Kashmiris and they will fight till they achieve inalienable right of self determination,” he said.
Expressing serious concern over what it termed as continued blood bath in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) strongly condemned the Pattan killings.
In a statement, PDP leader Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari regretted that killing of innocent youth has been going unabated and government has failed to protect lives of the people.
Vice chairman JKLF Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat has paid glowing tributes to the slain youth who fell to bullets of troopers and cops in Pattan.
