Maqbool Bhat’s nephew released

Kupwara, Sept 7: A local court here has granted bail to Adil Manzoor Bhat and ordered his release on bail after 21 days of detention in sub-jail Kupwara.
A class 11th student of Old Higher Secondary School Jawahar Nagar Srinagar, Adil is the nephew of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front founder, Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat who died in mid nineties while crossing the line of control. Adil was detained at joint interrogation centre Kupwara and later shifted to sub jail.
Talking to Greater Kashmir, Adil said “The police repeatedly sought the whereabouts of my uncle Zahoor Ahmad Bhat who is absconding from August 15, fearing arrest.” “When I said that I don't have any information about my uncle, they thrashed me severely,” Adil said.
Police had arrested Adil from his residence at Trehgam on charges of stone pelting when he had returned from Srinagar.
