RK staff goes on 2-day mass casual leave
Seeks removal of Station Director
Srinagar, Sept 7: The Administrative and Programme staff of Radio Kashmir Srinagar on Tuesday went on 2-day mass casual leave and staged a sit-in to demand removal of the Station Director, Bashir Arif.
In a statement, the aggrieved employees including announcers said they were awaiting the outcome of inquiry report submitted by the Deputy Director General who had been deputed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Prasar Bharati to investigate administrative lapses and financial misadventures allegedly by the Director.
Unit Secretary of Programme Staff Association, Shamshad Kralwari, termed the agitation as ‘democratic means to seek justice’ saying, “We believe that Prasar Bharati would take a right decision.”
President AAA, Ashfaq Lone, threatened that agitation would continue till their demands are met.
He stressed they were not against the Institution and they were agitating against the conduct of the Director alone.
The Unit Secretary of ADASA, M Y Ashai said: “We cannot be party to financial mismanagement by the Director Radio Kashmir here.”
