Congress leaders, many NC ministers absent
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Sept. 8: No leader from the Congress, a partner of National Conference in the coalition government, turned up to pay tributes to late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah today.
Even some prominent National Conference leaders, both from Kashmir and Jammu including ministers and MLAs, were also absent on the occasion.
Trying to play it down, a senior National Conference leader said due to the prevailing situation in the Valley people couldn’t reach the mausoleum.
“People were out on roads in north as well as central Kashmir. It was not possible for many party leaders to turn up,” he said. However he agreed that absence of Congress leaders was not a good signal.
