Fulfill demands
This refers to Syed Ali Geelani’s press conference wherein he has put five conditions before India for peace to return in Kashmir. I think India should have no problem in revoking the infamous Armed Forces Special Powers Act and go for demilitarization of the Valley. It is an established fact that the human rights violations in Kashmir are all time high. Civilians are being killed with great impunity. In such a situation, it becomes imperative to give people a sense of victory by revoking the AFSPA and releasing all the political prisoners on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. If India fails to address the problems facing Kashmiris, it is bound to face heavy retaliation from the youth who are refusing to give up their fight for freedom. Let the Indian leadership introspect.
