JKCL records highest ever Q1 prod, cement sale
Srinagar, Sept 8: The J&K Cement Ltd has recorded Rs 95.51 crores turnover during the last financial year by producing 1,62,528 MTs of cement, recording sale of 1,63,638 MTs during the period, an official communiqué said.
This was revealed at 93rd Board of Directors (BOD) meeting of JKCL, held with Industries Minister, S S Slathia in chair.
The meeting was informed that during the first quarter of the current financial year the performance of the company had remained better as against the corresponding period of the previous year, it said adding the company produced 38.066 MTs and sold 35,309 MTs of cement.
Slathia was informed that the company was making significant contribution every year to the Central and State exchequers in the shape of taxes. During the year 2009-10, the company paid Rs. 994.69 lakh as tax, the communiqué said. Since its inception the company has paid Rs. 16,767.35 lakh up to end of March on this account.
Slathia expressed satisfaction over the profit of Rs. 814.08 lakh achieved in 2009-10 as against 356 lakh in previous year.
He briefed the Board about the status of the newly constructed 600 TPD plant at Khrew.
