Ridiculous statements
Once again, the National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah has made a ridiculous statement. After saying that Kashmir is an integral part of India, he has targeted the senior Hurriyat Conference leader, Syed Ali Geelani by questioning his existence in Kashmir. By saying “who is Geelani”, Dr Farooq has not only proved that is behaving more loyal than the king, but demonstrated the extent to which a politician can go in keeping his mentors happy. But let me put the records straight. Geelani represents a mass sentiment in Kashmir. He gives a strike call and people stay indoors. He lifts the strikes, and people throng the markets. Geelani needs no introduction. If Abdullah still has any doubts, he must consult Omar Abdullah and ask him who actually calls the shots in Kashmir? Omar or Geelani? And whom do people follow?
