Fools' Day
This refers to the traditional of making fool of each other on April First. What happens in the tradition of ‘April fool’ is lying and lying always. Lying is an evil characteristic which all religions and systems of ethics warn against which may sense agrees that it is wrong. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Woe be on anyone who speaks and lies in order to make people laugh, woe be on him” (Abu Dawud). Its manifestations are not always pleasurable. Many people usually get hurt by these lies seeing or searching for its negative effects. Many relations are broken and some cases of divorce also happen. Seeing from other Islamic perspective, every kind of innovation in religion or the traditional sphere is vehemently opposed by Islam. Every innovation finds its place in the hell fire as in the saying of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) goes like this “one who imitates other systems is among themselves”.
It is quite unfortunate that instead of following the tenets of Islam, we are violating the basic principles. We should abstain from such worthless traditions.
