Indonesian travel operators on FAM tour to Valley

Will facilitate investment in tourism sector

Srinagar, Apr 9: Prominent Indonesian travel operators are currently on a visit to Kashmir to explore the potential of developing tourism in the Valley. 
“This week some top Indonesian tour operators and popular travel journalists visited the Valley,” the operators here said. 
They said to promote tourism in Kashmir, Distant Holidays, a Valley-based company, and Luxe India, a Delhi-based, luxurious segment company, jointly organized a FAM tour to Kashmir. 
During their stay in houseboats they visited famous Mughal Gardens, Siraj Bagh – Tulip Garden— and famous ski resort Gulmarg. 
Together with Javed Aslam Khan, Director Operations/Head, Distant Holidays, the team has been investigating methods of increasing tourist numbers to Kashmir. 
Haseeb Khan, Senior Manager, Distant Holidays, said: “We are delighted to have this group here and we are very hopeful that Indonesians will love this place. “The operators are very happy and appreciated the hospitality of Kashmiri people,” he said.
The group would be revealing their experiences as well writing about Kashmir in Leading Indonesian newspapers and travel journals, he said.
The group will also facilitate greater tourism investment from far of East Asia.
