JK implementing `373 cr Saffron Mission

Pulwama, Apr 9: For taking stock of the implementation of National Mission of Saffron, a meeting was held at Pulwama today under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Shafaat Noor.
The meeting was informed that total Project Cost of the Saffron Mission in J & K is Rs 373.18 crore out of which 86 per cent funding is being spent in district Pulwama on the components like rejuvenation, strength of irrigation system, enhancing product quality, mechanization, providing infrastructure facility, establishment of quality testing and market facilities.
DDC, Pulwama was informed that during rejuvenation 2011-12, the detail of revenue records is being prepared by Tehsildar Pampore. 
The Tehsildar concerned agreed to put exercise to completion within a period of 10 days.
The Chief Agriculture Officer, Pulwama informed that the Department of Agriculture has completed the construction of 70 warm compost units in district Pulwama till ending March, 2011 with regard to the identification of sites for digging deep boar wells and the work has been completed.
On the occasion, DDC asked officers to ensure completion of targets within stipulated time. The Chief Agriculture officer was specially directed to ensure fencing and handing over of “Spice Park” at Galander, Pampore to concerned authorities.
