‘6,081 complaints received by CD Commission in JK’

Jammu, Apr 10: Announcing that the Jammu and Kashmir Government will setup eight new consumer fora, the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Qamar Ali Akhoon has said 6,081 complaints were received by the State Consumer Disputes Commission so far.
“As many as 6,081 complaints were received in the State Consumer Disputes Commission, of which 5,394 have been disposed off,” Akhoon said while chairing the State Level Consumer Protection Council meeting here.
“For protection of the rights of consumers, the Minister said that eight new consumer fora are being established in eight districts,” he said.
“The posts created for these have been referred to recruitment agencies for adjustment. Meanwhile, Law Department has been approached for making these fora functional,” he added.
