Srinagar, Apr 10: Continuing with its endeavours of providing impetus to Valley’s apple industry, the FIL Industries Limited and FMC India Pvt Ltd on Sunday launched new products in the state.
At an impressive function in Kohinoor House here, Executive Director FMC India Pvt Ltd Sunil Kohli and Managing Director FIL Industries limited Syed Altaf Bukhari unveiled Athena, a miticide in presence of hundreds of dealers here.
Bukhari, who runs business conglomerate under the banner of FIL Industries Limited, with interests in agro-chemicals, consumer products, and agro-infrastructure, said that company believes in strengthening bond with its alliance partners and dealers.
“We are committed to bring the world’s latest technology to growers of Valley so that they get better quality crops and better returns. We are working out to give the complete crop package to the apple growers. This will cover all the agronomic and horticultural practices that are required to be undertaken for good crop protection,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to the dealers, he said it would have been impossible for FIL to scale heights without their dedication and support.
“We never compromise on quality and this has been our mantra for the success over the years,” he said.
About Athena, an effective miticide launched in collaboration with FIL industries, Kohli said that company’s motive is to help the growers.
“We would launch more products in next few years here so that more and more people would get benefited,” he said.
About the background of FMC, Koushal Jaiswal marketing head said that company is subsidiary of FMC Corporation based in Philadelphia in US.
“We are one of the most diversified global chemical companies with focus on future growth, profitability and realization of value for shareholders,” he said, tracing the origin of company to 1883.
Sonali Singh (Product manger) said that spray of Athena would prove effective against the mites.
“About 85 to 90 percent apple crop is hit by the mites. It would be effective against the common European Red mites and two spotted spider mites,” she said, adding, that mites removes sap and chlorophyll from underside of leaves.
She said Athena is registered in 40 countries and is also environment friendly.
“It is stable molecule and there are no side effects on sprayers like skin irritation etc ,” he added
Introducing CALBANN, a FIL company official, Muhammad Shafi said that the product is combination of Calcium and Boron.
“This product has rapid penetration. Not only this, it very easy to mix and use. Relatively its low dosages have proved effective. Besides it is also compatible with most pesticides,” he said.
Pertinently, for over two decades, FIL Industries Limited has been developing a comprehensive and dependable range of crop protection chemicals especially for apples The Consumer Division of FIL Industries Limited was set-up over a decade ago and one of the largest fruit juice concentrate units of Asia was set up by it here.
The company has also been at the forefront in the setting up of Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Storage facilities in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as in the rest of India.
