1 killed, 56 injured in road mishaps
Jammu, Apr 12: One person was killed and at least 56 others, including 40 policemen were injured in two separate accidents in Doda and Rajouri districts, police said.
One person was killed and 16 injured when a matador, on way to Bhalla area from Bhaderwah in Doda, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge, police said. Police identified the deceased as Din Muhammad.
In another accident, a bus carrying policemen on election duty from Poonch to Kathua, overturned at Bagnote area of Nowshera in Rajouri district yesterday, they said, adding 40 policemen were injured, eight of them critically. PTI
Meanwhile, a snow avalanche hit a Sumo (JK013- 1638) at Hung near Sonmarg on Tuesday injuring a passenger.
According to reports, the wounded has been identified as Tariq Ahmad.
