BJP using K-issue to strengthen vote bank: JKLF (R)
Srinagar, Apr 13: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front ( R) chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karatey and senior vice-chairman Javid Ahmad Mir on Tuesday said the BJP leadership of pursuing policy of double-standards vis-à-vis Kashmir issue and using it to strengthen its vote bank.
Addressing a meeting of party workers at its headquarters, Barbar Shah, here, the Front leaders said, “The BJ P senior leader and former prime minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during his rule visited Pakistan and announced in Lahore that Kashmir issue would be resolved. But like Congress, the BJP leadership is also pursuing the policy of double standards and using the Kashmir issue to strengthen its vote bank. The party is, on the one hand, terming the ongoing the Kashmiris’ freedom movement as terrorism and on the other, shedding crocodile tears before Kashmiris thereby playing a political gimmick. All the mainstream parties are, on the one hand, trying to hoist their political flags in Kashmir and, on the other, they are spewing venom against freedom movement and all pro-freedom leaders.”
The Front exhorted the BJP leadership to shun its policy of double standards, take steps for putting an immediate halt to atrocities on Kashmiris, and make all the pro-India parties work together for resolving Kashmir issue.
Meanwhile, Front leaders have expressed happiness over the release of Bar Association president Mian Abdul Qayoom.
