Srinagar, Apr 13: Want to taste mouth-watering traditional Punjabi dishes like Makai-Di-Roti and Sarsoon Da Saag amidst the traditional soul-touching music cum Bhangra and gushing waters! Well this is all part of the special program on Baisakhi on Thursday at the picturesque Peerzo Island Restaurant on river Jhelum banks.
 The celebrations at the City restaurant will begin at 2.00 PM on Thursday and anybody can join the bash and enjoy sumptuous lunch or dinner at nominal rates, officials said.
 The Peerzo Island Restaurant which was launched by the Tourism Department in 2009, has been recently sub-let to a private firm. 
 The firm owner Irshad Ahmad who runs the island restaurant said traditional Punjabi dishes would be available on Baisakhi. He said besides Makai-Di-Roti and Sarsoon Da Saag, the guests can relish fish, cheese, Daal-rajama and rice.
 “Besides theses traditional dishes, they can also enjoy the Punjabi music and Bhangra at just a nominal cost of Rs 300 per person,” Irshad said adding a large number of tourists are also expected to participate in the function. 
 The Director Tourism Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Shah said that such events would facilitate the tourists to have a feel of Kashmir’s rich culture and traditions. Shah said on the occasion of Baisakhi the Zabarwan Park on the banks of Dal Lake would be opened for public. The park hosts an open an air theatre, gaming zone, Heritage Kiosks and Tulip Museum.
