Patients shiver in Kargil hospital

Kargil, Apr 13: The attendants of patients admitted in District Hospital here have complained that the shutdown of heating system by the hospital administration was causing hardships to the ailing people.
 “The patients shiver and are suffering immensely due to lack of heating during nights as the temperature reaches sub-zero,” the attendants said, adding the administration stopped the heating system on April 1.
 Despite repeated pleas, the administration failed to re-start the heating system, they said.
 Sources said the heating system was stopped due to paucity of funds.
 Confirming it, Chief Medical Officer said “There are no funds for fuel to run the system. The matter was brought to the notice of chairman Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Corporation, and DDC, but nothing substantial has been done.”  
 The attendants sought intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in this regard.
