Wuyan Cement Factory employees demand dues

Appeal CM for intervention

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Apr 14: The employees of Wuyan Industrial Complex, a unit of J&K Minerals Limited, today demanded the release of their pending dues.
The employees said government forced the Golden Handshake Scheme (GHS) on them promising that their dues would be cleared within sixty days after they were “relieved” from their services.
The employees said they were relieved from the services on January 17, 2011 and their dues should have been cleared by or before March 17, 2011.
The employees said till date their dues have not been cleared. “We approached the G.M. who also assured us that the payment will be released within 10 days, but to no avail,” they said.
Accusing the management of playing indifferent to their woes, the employees said they were facing tremendous problems for want of money.
“It is not just we individuals who are suffering. We have huge families to support who too are suffering because of non-release of our dues,” they said.
“While our families are starving, the management is not ready to listen to us and release what is due to us,” they said.
Meanwhile, the employees have appealed the chief minister to intervene in the issue. “We fervently appeal the CM to direct the management to release our dues along with three months’ pending salary for the period from January 2011 till date or we may be allowed to rejoin our duties,” they said.
