Zaffar Akbar Bhat released
Srinagar, Apr 14: Authorities on Thursday released the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) and senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, sources told Greater Kashmir.
They said his detention was quashed by the High Court last month, following which he was shifted from Kot Balwal Jail to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Jammu and was later on shifted to JIC Humhama here.
From JIC Humhama, Zaffar was shifted to Police Station Sadder. “The state government issued the instructions to release him this evening,” sources added.
Pertinently, Zaffar was arrested and booked under Public Safety Act in 2010 and was subsequently shifted to Kot Balwal jail.
