Dilapidated Medical College Road awaits repairs
WE THE Srinagarites
THE Government Medical College Srinagar road at Karan Nagar is an important connect to SMHS hospital, the GMC and also is a key link to the Shahr-e-Khaas via the Syed Mansoor Sahib (RA) Bridge.
For the past few years due to opening of Kani Kadal bridge, the traffic inflow on the GMC Road has increased manifold, due to which the condition of road has became worse as it wasn’t maintained properly.
Many times the road was repaired but that repairing didn’t last long because of the symbolic patch work done.
During rainy days, the road becomes hell for the pedestrians because of the big potholes, which get hidden in the waterlogging. These potholes have become a cause of accidents.
During dry weather we shopkeepers cover the facades of our shops with polythene as we can’t find any better option to protect our shops and selves from dust. We the shopkeepers also keep spraying water on the road to avoid dust.
Many a time we apprized the concerned but nothing fruitful was done.
Now we request our concerned MLA to look into the matter and get rid of the problem.
