Dogra Certificate

This refers to a seminar that Syed Ali Geelani has called on Dogra Certificate. I appreciate Geelani for holding the seminar on April 18. It is a good platform to discuss the issue which is so serious. Dogra Certificate concerns the identity of Kashmir and the people of Kashmir can’t tolerate anything that is aimed at mutilating this identity. Such attempts to change the demographic charter of the state would certainly add fuel to the fire. The state government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committing the same mistake committed by the Ghulam Nabi Azad led coalition government when it issued the Amarnath land order without thinking about the consequences. This time, similar order about Dogra Certificate is being issued. Government has admitted that the matter should have been discussed in the cabinet by the minister. Now it is imperative for Omar to cancel the order so that there is no more unrest in Kashmir and no more lives are lost in police and CRPF action.
