Pak delegation to visit EP to rally support on Kashmir

Islamabad, Apr 15: A delegation of Pakistani parliamentarians led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Fazlur Rehman will travel to Belgium tomorrow to visit the NATO headquarters, European Parliament and Belgian Chambers of Representatives in an effort to win support on the Kashmir issue.
 The purpose of the six-day visit of the three-member delegation is to "strengthen political dialogue and to create greater awareness among elected representatives of Pakistan about NATO and European Union's increasing political and economic role in world affairs", officials said.
 The panel will also try convey to European leaders that Pakistan seeks a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
 Rehman also heads the Pakistan parliament's special committee on Kashmir.
 The delegation will meet several NATO officials and be briefed on the grouping’s "New Strategic Concept", its role in Afghanistan and relations with Pakistan.
