This is the time to stand up and speak out

It is a clever piece of writing by the Sajad Lone. Personal fears, masquerading as a tribute. It would serve the author to understand that if moderates don't wake up and do something more than writing essays, every person in Kashmir will be saying, "Yusuy rochum tas nish rachtam khodayo".
Without belittling it, Sajad sahab has felt the pain of having lost a near and dear one. His father and other moderates were in leadership, they I am sure understood the perils of public life and were killed for their beliefs. We grieved at their loss.
But spare a thought for those, who got killed without having an opinion and were neither hawks nor moderates, neither pro-tehreek, nor anti-tehreek. Killed by either those who unofficially wielded the guns and bombs or killed by those who were officially wielding them, caught in the cross-fire. My uncle was a victim of one such symbolic show of ability.
