Functioning of Labour, Employment departments reviewed

Jammu, Apr 16: Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik, convened an officers’ meeting to review the functioning of Labour and Employment Department. The meeting, according to an official statement, had threadbare discussion on number of important issues regarding better working of the department.  It was decided in the meeting that Commissioner/ Secretary Labour and Employment and Director Employment will submit comprehensive proposal for restructuring  of J&K State self Employment Schemes. The Minister asked the department to conceptualize the domestic Servants Regularization Act in order to safeguard the interests of large number of work force working as domestic servants in the State.
