Genuine demands

This refers to the news ‘Police foil employees’ protests’. Police is poking nose into everything in Kashmir. Why did they use water cannons against the employees if they are demanding their genuine rights? The employees in Jammu and Kashmir have been demanding their arrears for the past two years. Every time the government assures them that their issues would be resolved. But the state government never does anything on the ground. Recently the state government increased the salary and perks of the legislators and also the pension. The move would have financial implications worth millions of rupees every year. When state government is not bothered about that, why is it training guns on the employees? The state government wants to bring the working in government offices to halt and that is why it is delaying payment of arrears to the employees. It is highly condemnable that police used bamboo sticks on the employees.
