Biased view
This refers to the article “The central university issue” by Dr. Farooq Ahmad Peer wherein the author seems to be very biased. He argues that the innovative central university in the district Ganderbal is simply unrealistic and unreasonable. For political reasons, Ganderbal district has already lost one university. So it is better not to oppose this university. Ganderbal is the best place to have the central university because of its central location. Also people from Leh and Kargil have better access to this place. The author argues that the place is not so much developed and it has no road connectivity. But for his information Ganderbal has the best road connectivity as compared to the other districts. And it is an opportunity for the government to build the necessary infrastructure for the university as well as for the district. Moreover proper planning of the central university should be the least concern of the author. It is the job of planners who very well know it. Moreover this university is headed by an experienced academic and administrator Prof. Abdul Wahid whose ability to head an institution can make the difference.
