Auction of Paddar sapphire on Apr 26, 27

Jammu, Apr 20: J&K Minerals Limited conducting auction of world famous rough sapphire corundum of Paddar Mines in Kishtwar District, on 26th and 27th April, 2011 at Udhyog Bhawan , Jammu.
This, according to an official statement, is for the 3rd time since 1988 that the corporation has notified sale of rough sapphire through open auction. The last auction was held by the corporation on 8th and 9th February, 2010 yielding a revenue of Rs 74.69 lakh to the corporation.
This time the corporation shall put on sale around 14,493,870 grams of rough sapphire corundum including crystals in open auction.
This precious mineral is world famous because of its unique peacock neck blue colour and is rarely available in the world. The gem merchants and jewellers with and outside the country can avail the golden opportunity and buy the unique mineral through this auction.
