On Earth Day varsity debates state’s environment

Srinagar, Apr 22: On Earth Day,  Kashmir University Friday organized a number of events including brainstorming debates to discuss environmental scenario of the state.
 The KU PRO said the inaugural function was held at the Gandhi Bhavan and was presided over by Dean Academic Affairs, Prof A R Yousuf.
 Speaking on the occasion, Prof AR Yousuf emphasized the “need for joint efforts among the various departments of the university to understand the scientific, social-economic and historical aspects of the Earth system.”
 He called for close coordination with the government and society to safeguard “our degrading environment.”
 Head Dept. of Geology and Geophysics, Dr Shakil A Romshoo,  gave an overview of the research work being conducted at the university.
