FIRE IN SVD OFFICE KARGIL
GHULAM NABI ZEYA
Kargil, Apr 22: Police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in setting ablaze the office of Suru Valley Division (SVD) here earlier this week, while one of the culprits involved in the act died in the hospital after sustaining severe burn injuries, officials told Greater Kashmir on Friday.
Investigations revealed that setting of the SVD office on fire was a preplanned move.
“One of the culprits, Shabir Hussain, who had set ablaze the office had sustained burn injuries and later he rushed to the hospital. He had claimed that he had sustained injuries during a short circuit in a car. However, he died in the hospital. His another associate Abdul son of Muhammad Moosa had left behind a half burnt coat which police found on the spot,” officials said. “Abdul was arrested and during questioning he revealed that two employees of the SVD Haji Jaffar and Muhammad Azam had paid a hefty sum to him and late Hussain to set ablaze the office.”
Following Abdul’s revelations both the SVD employees were arrested.
Pertinently, records, including CDRs and other documents, and property worth crores were devastated in the fire incident.
