Sadiq Ali remembered on Fateha

Srinagar, Apr 22: Glowing tributes were Friday paid to senior politician, a noted poet, writer and environmentalist, Sadiq Ali on his congregational Fateha.
People from various walks of life including politicians, officials and religious personalities visited his graveyard for the congregational prayers. Thereafter the mourners went to Ali’s home and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
He breathed his last Monday after a prolonged ailment.
Ali remained elected legislator of the State Assembly for three consecutive terms. He had given some important recommendations about the Kashmir solution.
Ali entered politics at a young age, and was a close associate of late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, the founder of National Conference.
One of his sons Tanvir Sadiq, a techie by qualification, has been into politics for quite sometime and even remained a SMC corporator.
