GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 23: Yielding to the mutton dealers’ demand, the government today fixed the retail and whole rate of meat at a high level meeting here today.
Division Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon told Greater Kashmir that the retail and wholesale mutton rate has been fixed at Rs 240/kg and Rs 220/kg respectively.
He said the mutton dealers agreed to end their over-month long strike. However, he said it will take two or three days to reach fresh supplies from outside to the Valley and “therefore people will be able to get the mutton after three days.”
To mention, the mutton dealers were on strike for last more than a month demanding increase in the rate and reduction in tax. Samoon said:
“Reducing tax does not fall in my jurisdiction.”
Among others present in the meeting that was held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, was Director CAPD, representatives of Mutton Dealers and general public.
