Gugloosa family seeks probe into son’s 'mysterious' death
MUDASIR MAJEED
Gugloosa (Kupwara), Apr 24: The family of Gugloosa youth, who was found dead 'mysteriously' in a hotel room in Orissa, have urged the Government to seek a probe into the incident.
Bilal Ahmad Payar, 24, was found hanging in the room by the hotel employees on April 17 after he returned from home for training in the State.
According to CID reports, “Bilal was appointed in army four months ago and was undergoing training in Orissa. In March, Bilal fractured his leg during the training and returned home for treatment and subsequent rest. But when Bilal went back to Orissa, the army officials sought his medical fitness report. After conducting his medical examination, Bilal was declared unfit and was subsequently discharged from service.”
“On the same day, Bilal stayed put in a hotel there. When he didn’t came out of the room for two consecutive days, the employees grew suspicious and forced their entry into the room only to see Bilal’s body hanging from the ceiling,” CID official told Greater Kashmir.
According to the neighbours, Bilal was sole bread earner for the family as his father passed away 15 years ago. He had four sisters and a mother, they said, adding the family was suffering immensely due to lack of financial resources.
The shattered family members have sought a probe into the incident. “We urge the State Government to take up the issue with the Orissa Government so that it can order a thorough probe into the death,” the family said and sought the intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in this regard.
