Punish CEO

This refers to the news about the misbehavior of CEO of Islamabad district with a teacher of Vailu Zone (Greater Kashmir April 21). This is not the first time such shameful act has been committed by the official but it has become the order of the day. It is unfortunate that political influence is used to bully teachers and here was an example. The mere act of abusing a teacher makes us all hang our head in shame. Bigger tragedy is that this erring CEO is not been transferred from the district despite having done an irreparable damage to the entire educational set-up of the district. Teachers of the zone protested against this inhuman act and demanded instant removal of the CEO. Though they were assured that necessary steps will be taken, but nothing has been done practically in this regard. If no action is taken, that will mean encouraging such uncultured and ill-mannered people to carry on with their acts in future as well. To make teachers feel secure in their schools, some punitive measure is to be taken against the erring officer. Otherwise, such incidents can happen in future as well.
