396 posts sanctioned for polytechnic colleges: Chib
Jammu: Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib today said the government had sanctioned 396 posts for newly opened 18 Polytechnic colleges in the State.
Inaugurating a workshop on curriculum Revision, organized by J&K State Board of Technical Education in collaboration with National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh here, Chib said the revision of curriculum was an important aspect of any educational and technical institution.
“The revision of curriculum in the technical education system not only updates the quality of trade, but also plays a vital role in the efficiency of technicians. The trades are changing in the global world very fast,” he said.
Chib said polytechnics should focus on the basic knowledge of engineering, adding that specialized branches in some subjects had also been introduced in some colleges.
Chib said the knowledge of the pass outs would be updated so that they might be acceptable in the job market.
