General Hasnain visits Lolab

Srinagar, Apr 26: The General Officer Commanding of 15 Corps Lt Gen SA Hasnain, on Tuesday interacted with the people of Lolab in frontier district of Kupwara, army’s Srinagar based spokesman said in a statement here.
He said the interaction started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Later the elders felicitated the GOC.
The GOC, according to the spokesman, addressed the people and obtained their free and frank opinion on various issues. “General Hasnain commended the efforts of Moulvis and elders in guiding the youth of the region,” he said. “Our focus is to bring a greater humane face to the Army operations,” he quoted the GOC as having said.
“The GOC congratulated the people for incident free Panchayat elections in Lolab Valley and for participating in huge numbers in the process,” the spokesman said.
General Hasnain while referring to Shah Faisal, the IAS Topper said, “Youth need to follow his footsteps to excel in life.”
The GOC later interacted with the newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs of various Panchayats and Wards of Lolab area .
“After the address, the GOC interacted with the children of Dar-ul-Loom, orphanage children, Moulvis and elders. General Hasnain apprised the gathering about the initiatives taken by Army in development activities under Sadhbhavana, especially the construction of four water supply schemes and improvement of school buildings, besides effective initiatives in pre-recruitment rallies, educational development, coaching for NDA and IMA exams and scholarship for students,” the spokesman added.
