Cabinet meeting today

Jammu, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir state cabinet is meeting here on Thursday morning to deliberate upon various issues, official sources said.
They said the cabinet would meet at 9 am at civil secretariat here under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
This would be the last cabinet meeting in the winter capital, this year as Civil Secretariat and other government offices are closing here on April 30 for annual Darbar move to Srinagar.
Sources said beside some routine departmental agendas, the cabinet is expected to deliberate upon a proposal of the State Law Department for bringing an amendment in the constitution of State Vigilance Commission.
The government, according to the sources, is contemplating to amend the provisions regarding appointment and removal of SVO commissioner and a final decision in this regard would be taken in the meeting.
Proposal to regularize daily wagers (territorial) of the State Forest Department is also on the cabinet agenda, sources added.
The cabinet is also expected to issue some transfer and posting orders of middle rung officials in the civil administration, though same was not provided in the agenda circulated among the cabinet ministers, this evening.
Proposal to wind up Integrated Rural Energy Planning (IREP) and merge it with the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency would also be taken up, sources said.
Both the agencies are presently involved in the planning and implementation for rural energy across the state.
It was reliably learnt that the cabinet may also accord sanction for transfer of over 91 kanal of state land to the Home Department for establishment of IRP 1tth Bn Headquarter at Chatta Sunjwan on outskirts of the Jammu city.
Deputation of some senior JK cadre IAS officers to the government of India, according to sources, is also on the agenda.
